On board the 56m explorer yacht Blue II
Turquoise Yachts, the builders of the 55.99-metre yacht Blue II, have granted a closer look inside the new explorer yacht during her time in Capri this year.Photo: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsBuilt and delivered in 2020, Blue II’s appearance is reminiscent of an old-fashioned steamship, but boasts an entirely modern design and construction. The explorer yacht is Turquoise Yachts' first IMO Tier 3 compliant and ice-class yacht and is capable of taking on the Northwest Passage and polar regions with her Class 1B steel hull and ice-breaking bow.

Hoek Design was also responsible for her exterior and interior designs and, as the studio’s first and only motor yacht project, their background in sailing yacht design is reflected in Blue II’s profile, horizontal lines, and curved stern.

Blue II’s classic-meets-contemporary character is evident through the use of elements such as teak detailing and fresh and neutral colours palette.
